JWC MEMBERS

As outlined in the 1994 MOU, the Joint Working Committee (JWC) consists of members from FHWA, the U.S. Department of State, the Mexican Secretariat of Communication and Transportation (SCT), the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Relations, and the departments of transportation of the four U.S. and six Mexican border states, respectively.

The Committee is co-chaired by a representative from the FHWA and the SCT. The Co-chairs' responsibilities include providing guidance to the JWC, especially to their own delegation. They also bring a Federal perspective to any proposed projects or tasks.

There are also two JWC Coordinators. Coordinators are responsible for ensuring the biennial work plans are executed by providing support, arranging meetings, making work assignments, tracking progress of activities, ensuring participation and developing project plans. The Coordinators are also responsible for arranging the biennial meetings, ensuring adequate translation services, meeting space, and participation. They take the minutes and track the commitments and agreements from each meeting.
